Equipment
For your first handful of lessons you are not required to purchase anything. Please come in comfortable pants, leggings or jeans, and wear a closed toed boot with an approximately 1/2 inch heel.

Helmets
We have a variety of helmets on site for anyone to use, however, they are shared with everyone and we don’t have every size. It is suggested that the first purchase someone should make is a good, well fitting helmet. You can purchase from anywhere but the helmet needs to be ASTM and SEI certified. Bicycle helmet etc. are not rated for horse back riding and are not a safe alternative.
Breeches
Breeches are worn for English riding and should be comfortable with as much or as little grip as you prefer. You can get them without grip, with grip on just the knee, and full seat grip. Color of the breeches is not important for lessons. Knee patch grip is recommended for those just starting out
Boots
Boots should be comfortable with a small heel. Ankle height paddock boots are suggested for your first boots but both paddock boots and tall boots are acceptable.
